Russian Spies and Tabloids
I’m sure by now, you’ve heard about the 11 Russian spies arrested in the US this weekend. The idea was these spies would become so Americanized that no one would suspect them to be working for Russian intelligence. When arrests were made, neighbors were awestruck; remarking that the spies were living very American lives (some were described as “suburbia personified”). In some reports, moreover, it has been mentioned that such spies are also deployed in other yet-undisclosed countries.
However, one particular spy is garnering special attention. Anna Chapman is fast becoming a tabloid darling and internet celebrity for being a fiery-haired beauty. Various media outlets have already called here the modern Bond girl. Internet posters wish she’d be “the spy who loved me [every night].”
