Capoeira Classes
If you haven’t noticed it yet, I have a link to Grupo de Action Capoeira in my Links section.
For those interested in learning Capoeira (sorry, Metro Manila, Philippines only), here’s the info that you need:
* it’s in Club650 in Libis, Quezon City
* PHP 2400 for 12 sessions but you can try it for free for the first time
* Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 PM to 9 PM and Saturdays 10 AM to 12 noon
* For Saturday-only classes, it’ll be for PHP 2000 for 8 sessions
* For further inquiries, you can call or text 0915-769-5269
There are supposed to be classes in other venues but I don’t have the info. You may call the number above for this info.
I’ve been taking these Capoeira classes for more than a month now and boy, am I having the time of my life. Sure, my body was pulsing with pain after my first session but that’s natural–you wake up muscles you don’t normally use. I actually can do handstands now (albeit for a second or so but it’s still a handstand) and a bit of acrobatics. The kicks I do easily; I had martial arts training before but the ground moves and the philosophy sure are valuable additions to my martial arts repertoire.
As a bonus, here’s a really cool Capoeira video:

How limber do I have to be in order to work this Capoeira thing?
