Ramon Bautista–the biggest celebrity you’ve never met
He, he, he…I love this guy. He’s an indie filmmaker and now character celebrity. He’s appeared in small-TV show productions, mockumentaries, spoofs (gotta see his David Blaine spoof–Dan Michael), commercials and his own small segments in various TV networks.
And here’s a funny anecdote: My sister saw him in one of the local malls paying his celfone bill. Through the shop window, my sister and her companion beckoned to him that they take a picture with him. Ramon, ever the comedian then motioned that they wait–he’ll finish up with his chores first. When he did, he happily obliged with the photo op. Now, a lot of people didn’t recognize and were wondering why these girls were having their pictures taken with him.
When that was done, they parted ways. And a few minutes later, he was running, asking them to give him a copy of the pics so he could post them in his multiply/friendster/blog. And this guy has already appeared on TV numerous times when this happened…in a crowded mall (NOTE: In the Philippines, if you appear on TV, it’s a big deal).
