Iconic Filipino Rapper FrancisM Dies of Leukemia
Francis Magalona loses his battle against cancer and dies of acute myelogenous leukemia at 12 noon earlier today, Philippine time. He was 44.
Magalona, also known as FrancisM, has been a pillar in the Philippine music scene. Though mostly a rapper, he is most known for pioneering rap-rock fusion in the Philippines back in the late eighties and his unabashed Filipino pride. He was proud of his heritage, a good musician, a loving family man and never held back to show all these in his songs. Some of his most popular songs are Mga Kababayan Ko, Three Stars and a Sun and Kaleidoscope World, aside from his collaborations with other artists such as the Eraserheads, Ryan Cayabyab, Joey Ayala, the Juan dela Cruz band, among many others.
