Geek Movies Scheduled Til 2012

That’s right. Apparently, [American] studios are calling dibs on some sweet dates to save them, so that other outfits would stay away. For example, the Avengers movie moved on a later date when the final Harry Potter film was announced a release date (and also to give whoever filmmaker more time to make a decent movie). Heck, Transformers 3 already has a release date–ROTF hasn’t been released yet and nobody has even committed to the film. Not even Michael Bay.

The ‘genre’ (euphemism for geek?) movies announced with release dates are:

  • Iron Man 2: May 7th, 2010
  • Twilight: Eclipse: June 30th, 2010
  • Inception (Christopher Nolan’s next film): July 16th, 2010
  • Jonah Hex: August 6th, 2010
  • Green Lantern: December 17th, 2010
  • Spider-Man 4: May 6, 2011
  • Thor: June 16th, 2011
  • Transformers 3: July 1st, 2011
  • The First Avenger: Captain America: July 22nd, 2011
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2: July 15th, 2011
  • The Avengers: July15th, 2012.

Read ‘em and weep, fanboys (or swoon for girls for the Twilight movie) at the Newsarama article right here.
