PRODUCTION NOTES: Ok, this strip is the first done entirely in a Linux ecosystem. The preliminary drawing and shading were done in Sketchbook Pro for Android (Honeycomb). The layout and dialogue were then in Ubuntu 12.4 (Precise Pangolin) using Inkscape. The final image you see here (and other adjustments) were done using GIMP 2.8 which was just recently released.

Looks like I can let Illustrator and Photoshop go now.

I was like, ‘Dude, personal flying armor, Norse gods and alien invasion!’ but apparently it’s something else. They did cooperate fighting Decepticons.

The Pentagon didn’t like that it was unclear to whom SHIELD answered. Was it to the UN? the US government? It was never certain (even in the comics) so they just shook Marvel’s hand and walked away. Although someone commented that SPOILER ALERT Nick Fury disobeyed the order to nuke New York.

Philippines holds zombie-themed running race

In the wake of zombie popularity in the media, some organizations are now holding zombie-themed events.

The province of Laguna in the Philippines recently held a 5km run where runners were to escape or accomplish tasks with zombie chasing them.

Two hundred actors dressed as post-apocalyptic zombies hid behind trees, bushes and rocky uphill climbs along the five km (three mile) course to surprise the unsuspecting runners and symbolically feast on their brains by stealing flags attached to the runners’ waists.

Zombies are experiencing a resurgence in popularity with comics/TV shows like The Walking Dead. Apps like games and running motivators are even available for Android and iOS. The CDC even took part of the fun with it’s zombie-apocalypse advisory.

This seems to be a movement, even memetic–non-cinematic video games being rethunk into movies.

Following Minesweeper, Tetris, now Pac-Man gets a turn.

If only Hollywood can be this creative.
